Minto morley reforms in urdu pdf download This document will discuss the ideology of Minto Morley, who was a Christian painter. Out of his struggle to identify with Christ, he began painting for Christians and this resulted in what became known as the “Minto Morley Reforms”. He wished to use his artistic skill to produce an image like no other. He also argued that it is not only important but also necessary for artists to render spiritual imagery and Christian subjects in order to be true artists. The article that evaluates whether or not these ideals are justifiable will then be discussed by the article “A Reasonable Response” . These statements are very bold and could be viewed as intolerance. “As an artist, I must try to understand the spiritual meaning of my work. I am not just painting objects that exist outside myself, but should endeavour to use the same ambition which the artist brings to his other work, namely spiritual interpretation.” This quote is extremely bold and also implies that Minto Morley believes himself to be more than just an artist. This shows his strange beliefs, or lack of belief in something he believes will eventually cause him pain. The ideals of Minto Morley are very hard for others to take because one cannot come up with such ideas without having an extremely strong mind. This can be seen in that he was not an ordinary man. Minto Morley is not very different from other artists in terms of his portrayal of Jesus; he uses the image of Christ to act as the Messiah. The article “A Reasonable Response” by Stewart Hutton, questions whether or not this was the correct thing to do. Stewart feels that Minto Morley could have used this talent for other things and should have stopped at depicting Jesus to show his talent for painting. Minto Morley did not want to stop there; he wanted to include religious objects into his paintings, which means that he wished to show people that these objects were something more than just objects. He wanted to show them that these objects were sacred. Stewart states in his article that “Minto Morley paints religious images, but does so in a way that seems to distort the religious messages he presents”. The quote within this document is inconsistent with the previous one because it shows how Minto Morley would want people to use their art for more than just an object, but also to have them understand the meaning of his work.. “And Minto Morley reached no conclusion of his own. He did not know whether what he was doing was right or wrong. He had no religion of his own. He knew nothing beyond the immediate meaning of his work. The painter's mind was barren; he had no concept of any higher standard. The Christ he painted was little more than a man” This article shows that Minto Morley should have stopped at just painting Jesus, because he did not know how to interpret his paintings. He should have stopped at later on because it can be seen that he was not sure if what he was doing was right or wrong. It can be said that this is irrelevant because even if Minto Morley intended to take the message further than just religious objects, it does not mean that it would have been okay to stop there. cfa1e77820
